Walk with me, Nero

Nero and I, were finally able to venture back out in the woods, as the weather is cooler and the mosquitos are all but gone.  Most of the paths are overgrown now, but, we managed to pick our way through to the clearer areas.  There's some really big scary look'n trees out there!

At one point, we heard an animal in the tree tops, and suddenly, something came crashing to the ground, like a large stone falling out of a tree!  After which, all was silent.... then we saw the brush moving, as something made a MAD DASH through it, to escape as far away from us as fast as it could!  I have to assume it was a squirrel?  But, I really couldn't see him.

Nero and I travelled far and deep, enjoying the cool, fresh air and the green all around us.  It was beautiful. 

Suddenly, Nero stopped, in the middle of the path, his ears alert as he scanned the area up ahead and on either side... then back at me.  So, I stopped... and waited.  He stood still, listening and looking around.  I whispered, "What is it, boy?"  "Is there something there?"  He didn't look too concerned.... so I continued to walk passed him, to see what "I" could see.... nothing.  (???) Then I realized, THIS was the place we had walked by, where "something" had fallen out of the tree!!!   Wow!  Everything looked so much the same to me.... I didn't even realize that is where we were!  But, Nero knew.  He felt he'd best be on the look out.   It's just so amazing what they can do.

  Nero is so special to me... if I loved him any more, I think my heart would burst.

Mom? I can't get up there!

Prize say's, "Relax... she's got to come this way to get back down. I'm gonna camp out here, and wait patiently..... Hi Mom!"

"What does that mean... 'patiently'?"

Okay, Prize, Mom's not going anywhere....

Let's explore abit, while we wait for her to come back down.

Ginger and Nero enjoyed a weekend in, New York State, together, at the beginning of October. Ginger has a planned breeding with Kuma, of White Fang Shilohs, who is Nero's brother and littermate.

Nero made sure, Ginger stayed true. (perhaps not in thought... but, certainly in deed) Nero's a Momma's boy, as you can see.

Nero understands ......

I know the video isn't very good... but, it does give you an example of how well Nero listens and can understand what I say....

At the beginning, I ask, "What have you got?" He drops the toy.

Then I ask where Story is. See him look to the left of the screen, then back to me? When I ask again, about Story, he again looks, and then you see Story come running. He was obviously 'looking at her' when I asked where she was. ;)

Do you hear me say, in a normal tone, "No, not that way... this way." And Nero, who is trotting off with his teddy-bear, turns immediately, and continues to trot with his bear, in the direction I wanted.

Tough guy, huh? LOL ;D

BTW I can't see the video screen in the daylight... so that's why I'm filming the grass. Sorry.

Pick a Paw!

Pick a paw, any paw.... please! It was a cold day in February, and I had a feeling, somebody was staring at me. Awww.... Nero, had both his frisbees, one under each paw.... and he was hoping. ;)

I love that dog.

Playing the the woods at the farm, yesturday, Story is Lil'Red Ridinghood, skipping through the trees, and Nero is the, Big Bad Wolf, who's going to capture her. I don't know if you can see them kissing at the very end, but they do. ;)

Nero and Story

Here they are, Nero and Story! Dec 13, 2008. Nero wants me to play with him, while Story is waiting for Nero to run, so she can chase and jump on him!

Nero, hasn't been himself for the past few weeks as Story's been experiencing her first HEAT! So, for Halloween... Nero needed no rehearsing... HE WAS, "The Big Bad Wolf"

Nero's been learning how to play frisbee.... it's just been a week, and he seems to have caught on, pretty good. Of coarse it would be easier if, Lil' Story, wouldn't BUT IN! LOLs

Training Nero(?)

Nero didn't feel much like training, preferring to do his, FLYING KISS, in the beginning. He was abit too playful today.... but, you get the idea.

Nero visited, Petsmart, today! He made some new friends, and tested the toys out. LOLs

The little GSD was, 4 months old. I remember when Nero was 4 months! He was 50+ lbs! LOLs

The Great Pyramese was wonderful. She was, a dog after Nero's heart, completely! I hope we see her again.
